Wanted to like this but the instructions are useless. The translation issues are the problem. It was not clear what buttons did what. Build wise a nice piece of kit. I might see myself coming back. Let's see what this other one is like.

Brilliant flash, easy to use and setup / adapt to your subject. I could sit here and write a lengthy review but the results speak for themselves (please see photos)

I got this to compliment my Macro photography hobby. Due to family illness I only managed to use twice. It has been boxed without the batteries for most of the year. Came to use it today and it is broken. K&F concept offered to replace straight away and even said they would help further in the future. They are very good. Thank you K&F Concept

Great for a cheaper alternative than the canon, need to replace the batteries often so I would suggest buying rechargeable ones!!

The product was a bit heavier than expected, and the coiled lead is quite tight and when on the lens, puts a lot of pressure on the front ring and feels like it is trying to pull it away from lens. After loading new batteries the unit did not want to turn on. After repeating the instructions a number of times eventually it turned on and seemed okay. After returning to the flash to play some more I had the same problem, don’t know if my batteries at fault or the connection is just temperamental. The product did arrive without the flash stand and I was disappointed that my 50mm 1.8 lens was not supported. I have emailed seller who responded positively but after submitting my full address for shipping a ring and stand they requested my phone number which I did not understand. I am currently thinking about just returning the item, but would have liked to test it in the field. Without these problems I a am sure it would have been a more positive review.Update on product. Since first review the manufacturer has sent me a 49mm adapter and the stand. The issue with battery and start up hasn’t re appeared and I have had opportunity to play with it a bit more. Excellent service from them in shipping from China, and really quick too. Thank you.

Not used much so far, but produces results. Instruction manual very vague. Good value for the money.

I bought the KF-150 to replace an old Sunpak ringflash that I had used for many years. The main reasons for buying it was for ETTL control with my Canon 7D2 and the ability to control each side of the light individually. For a novice user the user manual could leave a bit to be desired but wasn't a problem for me. When I first used it noticed that one of the four retaining lugs that clip on the adaptor rings wasn't springing out very well but I presume that was probably due to a little spur on the plastic lug because it was fine after a little use. I was also puzzled by the LCD display because when first powered up it showed TTL and this only changes to ETTL with a half press on the camera shutter button, if the camera goes asleep it changes back to TTL, strange but not a problem. The only other minor niggle is that the coiled cable is very stiff and makes positioning the head a bit tricky. In use the flash is excellent giving very even lighting over a wide range of distances. I find I have to adjust the compensation to -1EV for macros of about 1:2 or less, I think this is more a deficiency of the Canon ETTL system. For most close and macro shots I find that an A:B ratio of 4:1 (or 1:4) gives the best lighting effect. I use it with NiMH rechargeable batteries which work very well. All in all a great ring flash which does exactly what it supposed to do at a great price and I would certainly reccommend it.
